Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow Omicron Enemy Origins

While we’re on a leisurely quest on Omicron Persei 8, it seems like the perfect place for a post about the enemies the Planet Express crew fight on the planet in Worlds of Tomorrow.

Space_Bees
In the current quest, they face Space Bees.   These giant insects first appeared in the emotional rollercoaster of an episode, season four’s “The Sting”.  They then reappeared in the “What-If” styled episode, season six’s “The Futurama Holiday Spectacular”.

They also face Space Pirates, which actually were first seen in the second comic story “…But Deliver Us To Evil!”, which I previously covered during the George Takei Weekend, since this comic was also the debut of phasers in Futurama.  The space pirates later showed up on the show in season three’s “Godfellas”.  They also appeared in the film “The Beast with a Billion Backs” and the season six episode “Möbius Dick”.

The third enemy that the crew faces in this weekend quest is the Paramecium. These creatures appeared in the season two episodes “The Lesser of Two Evils” and Raging Bender”, and the film “The Beast with a Billion Backs”.

Ndnd
This quest also gives a delivery to Ndnd, the wife of Lrrr, the ruler of Omicron Persei 8. These two can be found in the season one episode “When Aliens Attack”, the season two episode “The Problem with Popplers”, the season three episode “Anthology of Interest II”, the season four episodes “Love and Rocket” and “Spanish Fry”, the films “Bender’s Big Score”, “The Beast with a Billion Backs, and “Into the Wild Green Yonder”, the season six episode “Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences”, the season seven episodes “Naturama” and “T.: The Terrestrial”, and the comics “Bender Breaks Out”, “Anthology of Interest II”, “Fry Cook!”, and the “Simpsorama” crossover episode with The Simpsons. Alone, Ndnd can be seen in the comic “The Time Bender Trilogy: Part 1”. Likewise, Lrrr can be seen alone in the film “Bender’s Game”, the season six episodes “The Mutants Are Revolting” and “Fry Am the Egg Man”, the season seven episode “Naturama”, and the comic “As the Wormhole Turns”.

While we’re on the subject of Omicron Persei 8, previous space missions in Worlds of Tomorrow have had the Planet Express crew fight Popplers and Omicron Guards.

Poppler
The Popplers are the off-spring of Omicronians, and they taste irresistable to humans and some other alien species. They were sold by Fishy Joes until Leela discovered that they were actually baby Omicronians. These adorable little aliens appeared in the season two episode “The Problem with Popplers”, and were mentioned in the season six episode “Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences”. They also appeared in the thirty-ninth comic “Rust In Peace”.

Lrrr and Guards
The Omicron Guards, were, unsurprisingly, the guards of Omicron Persei 8.  They appeared in the season one episode “When Aliens Attack”, the season two episode “The Problem With Popplers”, and the season four episode “Spanish Fry”.
